Who we are
Romero Kucerkova Law is the name we practice under. Our legal entity is Romero Kucerkova Law Corp, APC (formerly Guardian Injury Law), also known as RK Legal Corp. We are a California law firm in Victorville that handles personal injury, lemon law and workers’ compensation cases.
In this policy, “we,” “us” and “our” mean the firm. “You” means anyone who visits this website or contacts us through it, by phone, by email or by text message.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you fill out a form on this site, we collect what you type in:
- Free case review form: your name, phone number and email address, what happened, when it happened, any details you choose to add, and whether you agree to receive text messages.
- Referral form: your name, phone number and email address, the kind of legal help you need, and whether you agree to receive text messages.
- Newsletter signup: your email address.
When you call, email or text us. We keep your phone number or email address and what you tell us, so we can follow up and keep an accurate record of your inquiry.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, the servers that host this site record basic technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you request, the page that referred you, and the date and time. We use this to keep the site running, secure and fast. We don’t use it to build a profile of you.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- respond to your questions and requests;
- review what happened and tell you whether we may be able to help;
- communicate with you about your inquiry and, if you hire us, your case;
- send appointment reminders;
- send our newsletter, if you subscribe;
- run, maintain and protect this website, including preventing spam and abuse; and
- meet our legal and professional obligations as a law firm.
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t use it for advertising.
No attorney-client relationship until we agree in writing
Sending us a form, an email or a text message does not make us your lawyers. An attorney-client relationship begins only when we both sign a written agreement.
Until then, please don’t send confidential or sensitive details through this website, such as medical records, Social Security numbers or account numbers. A short description of what happened is all we need to get started. We’ll ask for anything else once we’re working together.
Text messaging (SMS)
How we get your number. We collect mobile phone numbers when you enter one on our free case review form or referral form, and when you call or text us.
How we use it. We use your number to call or text you about your inquiry and your matter, including appointment reminders and case updates. We only text you if you check the text message consent box on one of our forms, or if you text us first. Agreeing to receive texts is not a condition of hiring us or of using any of our services.
Opting out. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts. Reply HELP for help, or contact us at (760) 338-9712 or hello@rklegalcorp.com. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
Mobile information and text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be sold, rented, or shared with any third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Information may be shared with subcontractors who support delivery of our messaging service; those parties are contractually prohibited from using it for any other purpose.
See our text messaging terms for more.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information for as long as we need it to respond to your inquiry or handle your matter, and then for as long as our professional and legal record-keeping obligations require. When we no longer need it, we delete it or store it in a form that no longer identifies you.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections to this site and access limits on our systems. No website or email system is completely secure, though, which is one more reason not to send confidential details through the site before we’re working together.
Children
This website isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information through the site, contact us and we’ll delete it. If a child has been hurt, a parent or guardian should contact us on the child’s behalf.
Your California privacy rights
If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, may give you these rights:
- Right to know what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it and who we shared it with.
- Right to delete personal information we collected from you, subject to exceptions, such as records we must keep by law or as part of a legal matter.
- Right to correct personal information that is inaccurate.
- Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Right to non-discrimination. We won’t treat you differently for using any of these rights.
How to make a request. Email us at hello@rklegalcorp.com or call (760) 338-9712. We’ll need to confirm your identity before acting on your request, usually by matching details you’ve already given us. We’ll respond within the time the law allows.
Authorized agents. You can ask someone to make a request for you. We may ask for proof that you gave them written permission, and we may still need to confirm your identity directly.
“Shine the Light.” California Civil Code section 1798.83 lets California residents ask whether a business shared their personal information with third parties for those parties’ own direct marketing. We don’t do this. You can still send us a request at the email address above.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we’ll make it clear on the site.
